Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Alter at altr.video. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service.
What the service does
Alter generates scripts, synthesises narration, renders video, and publishes the result to accounts you connect. Parts of it call third-party AI services, whose output is not deterministic and is not guaranteed to be accurate, original, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
Your content, and who owns it
You keep ownership of what you upload and of what the service produces for you. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store, process, and transmit that content to the third parties listed in the Privacy Policy so that it can be generated, rendered, and published on your instruction.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload and publish — including imagery, music, trademarks, and any person's likeness or voice. AI output can unintentionally resemble existing work; checking that what you publish is lawful and appropriately licensed is your responsibility, not ours.
Acceptable use
You may not use Alter to produce or publish:
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- material that impersonates a real person or organisation, or that is presented as a genuine record when it is not;
- content that is unlawful, harassing, or sexualises minors;
- anything that breaches the terms of a platform you publish to, including YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok — spam, deceptive metadata, and mass-produced repetitive content are their rules to enforce, and violating them is your risk.
We may suspend or terminate an account that uses the service this way.
Third-party platforms
Connecting an account means granting Alter permission to act on it. Uploading via YouTube API Services also binds you to the YouTube Terms of Service . We do not control those platforms and are not responsible for their decisions: if a video is removed, demonetised, or a channel is penalised, that is between you and them.
AI disclosure
Content produced with Alter is generated in part by AI, including synthetic voice. Where you publish it, you are responsible for making any disclosure the platform or the law in your jurisdiction requires.
Availability
The service is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee. It depends on third-party APIs that can fail, change, or impose their own limits, and we may change or discontinue features at any time.
Costs
Generating and rendering content consumes paid third-party API credits. Where usage limits apply to your account, they will be stated in the interface.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Alter is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted content. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending it
You can stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
